Theatre Costumes Any Time

It would be so funny to head over to the costume store, in lets say June, and pick out a period piece costume from what looks like the set of Macbeth and wear it to work. Just do it. Be the person that adds a little laughter to cubical life. Don’t you hate that you just downed the idea because you just didn’t want that much attention or strange reactions from your co-workers?

Oh, well, guess you better save the theatre costumes for a costume party or Halloween event. When you do decide to put on a costume I hope it is grand. Everyone needs to put on a really well made, over the top, costume for Halloween some time in their life. With the way things are these days, maybe this is the year to do it up just to make yourself feel better about your life.

One of the things that you must to to make your costume look stage worthy is to get the make up right. There are some great sites that offer up free tips on theatrical makeup so there are no excuses.

Anyway, I dare you to come up with some other reason to wear a costume other than Halloween. Get with your friends and have a costume party or find a play to put on in your backyard. Do it all in a part of the year when there is nothing else interesting going on to break up the month.

Modesto Youth Activities

Modesto California is a great place for children. There are a number of activities for young people to get involved in and keep themselves occupied and active. Anyone who is considering relocating should come out to Modesto for a few days, get a hotel room , and check out the area.

There are basketball clinics that teach the fundamentals of basketball, including playing offense and defense, terminology and rules. There are a number of drills that are run to help the young athletes train their dominant hand as well as their off hands in order to become ambidextrous and even more dangerous on the court. That is the best way to become a double threat as one dimensional players are predictable and easier to defend. After the camp players can join the Modesto Slam N Jam One of the top camps in Modesto is located at the Maddux Youth Center and is hosted by Vernon Bradford.

For the youth that are not interested in sports there is no need to worry. In Modesto there is something for everyone. The Young Rembrandts is an elementary age curriculum that is designed to teach basic to advanced drawing skills, art techniques and vocabulary in a friendly, positive, and nurturing environment that brings out the best in each kid and encourages them to use their imaginations. No prior knowledge or art class experience is required. All materials are supplied by Young Rembrandts. There will be new lessons and experiences each class. The class is located at the Senior Citizens Center on 211 Bodem Street, Modesto.

Baton Twirling is another activity that the young ladies are often interested in. This class offers instructions for recreational and competitive twirling as well. It is a great place to learn the basic twirls for beginners then as you progress you will be able to move up to the advanced levels. Baton twirling is a great activity for developing hand eye coordination. However, the kids that sign up are doing it just to have fun or to help prepare themselves for high school cheer leading. Dandi Humphrey is the class instructor and the classes are held at the Senior Citizens Center at located at 211 Bodem Street.

The Emerald Necklace of Boston

Boston is a large city, a bustling metropolis, however there are many opportunities for hiking right in the heart of this city.  There are more than two thousand acres of open parks and green landscapes.  This green belt of Boston winds its way through the outlying neighborhoods right through the center of the busy downtown business district.  Part of this system is called the Emerald Necklace.  This stretch is the masterpiece of park designer Frederick Law Olmsted. Other familiar works that this man created are none other than Manhattan’s Central Park and Brooklyn’s Prospect Park.

When it comes to gardens and park designs, Olmsted is the Rembrandt of the parks and recreation world.  For not only did he fully comprehend the elements of design and engineering, but he took the aesthetics into consideration in everything that he created during his lifetime.  The Emerald Necklace connects the Public Garden to the Boston Common, and is now the only section of this fairway left that was designed by Olmsted.  So respected is he, that this area is now on the National Register of Historic Places.  To find a hotel in Boston along this section is to ensure that the visit to the city will be one that is filled with beauty and wonder.  For not only is this beautiful, but the work Olmsted put into the Emerald Necklace spanned twenty years, so it is quite impressive as well..

Other elements of the park are connected to this, but those were not his creations.  Today, the Emerald Necklace Conservancy is in charge of tending to and protecting the landscaping as well as the paths, walkways and waterways.  They see that his vision is fulfilled as Olmsted believed that the older park systems could coexist with the new ones.  To combine the two, instead of tearing down one and replacing it with the other, is more time/nature continuum.  This is a lovely spot to picnic, to hike through and to simply reflect on the care that one man took, to make so many cities in the United States just a little bit prettier.

Singapore Hotels and Spice

It’s been an amazing time to visit Singapore, and there are so many good reasons why it’s become such a popular destination for world travelers looking for the perfect dream vacation.  With an incredibly rich urban culture that seems to be far ahead of the trends of the rest of the world, there is always something new and exciting in town.  It’s also got that splendid tropical atmosphere that makes everyone feel like they’re permanently on vacation.  Singapore has seen a steady and swift rank increase in popularity for more than a decade, and there’s no signs of it stopping.

This is in large part due to the gracious hospitality afforded by its magnificent hotel industry.  It has a long history as a major world port, and its multicultural demographic is a testimony to its ability to attract and keep a wide array of cultures and traditions.  This also makes it a place that particularly adept at welcoming strangers into its unique geography.  For these reasons, it is one of the most spectacular places in the world to find a hotel.  The lodgings are all rather gloriously accommodating, and there is certainly something to meet everyone’s needs.  It is something that is peculiar to places that have served as major trading ports.

Singapore is very unique in this regard, because its location made it particularly ideal for the spice trade.  This was one of the major centers in the world where spices passed through, and today this legacy is still very much alive.  There are an unusually high number of exotic ingredients that are available here.  This is not only due to its unique geography, but also for the access to other worlds and other spices.  Some say that this phenomenon lead to the discovery of the first fusion cuisines.  This variety also translates into art and entertainment, and there is something truly for everyone here.
